Ok, so this is a goofy request, but if anyone can help my friends can.
Does the phrase "he said she said who said trinity" ring a bell to anyone?
Our home computer crashed and burned this weekend - Windows corruption. I reinstalled XP, and it boots up fine now - with the exception that somehow it has gone into a time machine. The only login options now on Windows are Lin Odom and guest, and the Lin Odom account is password protected with a password I don't know and a hint I don't recognize. It has a password hint of "he said she said who said trinity", which rings zero bells with me, and googling it hasn't been helpful.
This computer was built with the help of some friends at Incanta (Neil, Bob...), before I got married, so that puts this password hint at somewhere between 6 and 8 years old... and probably put there by the person that built the computer, not by me.
I can see the folders where all of my documents, data, pictures, etc. are, but I can't access them logged in as guest. Long story short, if I can't guess or circumvent this password, I won't be able to get to them ever, and that's unpleasant...
Help! 1) any ideas on what the password may be with a hint of "he said she said who said trinity"? 2) anyone know how to get around this password to get admin rights if we can't guess it? It's Win XP Professional.
Thanks! Current Mood: fretty

So most of you know that this summer my 16-yr-old niece came to stay with us and ended up staying for the long term. We got guardianship of her in August and she'll be staying with us through her last two years of high school. Our goal is to provide her the best opportunities for growth that we can, and do a two-year crash course in "preparation for life after high school." We'll be working on things like time management, goal setting, prioritization, integrity, relationship with God, how to budget, balance a checkbook, how to cook, exercise / fitness, how to pump gas, how to use an ATM machine, how to do laundry, conflict management, leadership, the list goes on.
So far the experiment is working out ok. She has learned to cook a few dishes, has lost almost 20 pounds, has learned to prioritize and study to bring her grades up, and is starting to get the hang of the checkbook. Things have gone so well, in fact, that she told her friends back home about it and one of her buddies has been asking to also move to TX and join the "Woodson school of life." After much deliberation and many conversations, Jeff and I have agreed to take on a second teenager, Joe, 17-yr-old high school dropout who aspires to go to college and make a contribution to society. Joe entered our "boot camp" over the weekend, starting with a haircut and some business casual garb. He'll be sleeping on the couch until we can get him a bed, and we took him out yesterday to apply for jobs. We hope to have him in college, at least part time, by January.
To be honest we haven't the foggiest idea what we are doing, and will surely make some mistakes along the way. But God has blessed us with a roof over our heads (albeit leaky), food on the table, and a reasonable knack for teaching, so we feel it's ours to share what we have.
We ask for your prayers on all fronts - health, wisdom, finances, fun... - as we raise a toddler, two teenagers, three dogs, a cat and a fish.

just driving by to check in - sort of a visit in the time machine, or beamed back here like on star trek.
still alive. still in dallas. it's a whole lot like atlanta, but with better infrastructure. down side is i haven't found a red light cafe equivalent, nor an eddie's attic equivalent, so i haven't gotten out much or done any writing.
work is going well. chaotic, but good. nothing like growing a business from 1 person to hopefully many.
hayden is growing like crazy. handsome, wicked smart, imaginative, a flirt.
just adopted my 16 y/o niece, so life won't be boring for the next few years.
got a new great dane pup. his name is einstein. he's dumb as dirt. shiva the bullmastiff is still hanging in, though way past her warranty at 12 years old.
jeff and i are on a health kick. he's lost 46 pounds in 3 months. i've lost 20 or so, almost 3 clothes sizes.
i continue to enjoy yard sales and occasional pottery making.
so - that's the update in a nutshell.
hope this finds you all well.
beam me up, scottie...

so tonight i went to the red light cafe. best i can remember, the last time i was here was over two and a half years ago. it's soothing and refreshing to feel like some things don't change... that some things are the same no matter how much i change. i got the same parking spot. there's the same plastic bucket by the door to drop your $3 cover charge in. john madden is setting up the stage and says "hey girl!" when i walk in. bill hoover is in the sound booth and greets me by name without hesitation. "hey lin, how are ya?" as if it had been just last week that we last spoke. the redlightcafe.com web site still says on the open mic page "the taxgoddess calls this her church." man, that was a long time ago. i think the first time i came here was between 7 and 10 years ago - yet there's nothing new here... a beautiful contrast to the tornado that has been my life. it's a random slide show in my head, images, snapshots over time. different jobs, different houses, different relationships, different perspectives. the house concert era come and gone... from smoking pot to throwing pots. from the days of constant live journal to now just keeping up with life. the last time i was here was with he-who-shall-not-be-spoken-of. we sat at the two-top against the wall under the thermostat. he wore a dark green long sleeve shirt. i brought my baileys in a yoohoo bottle for my coffee. we did mad-lib poetry. i shared this place with him for a brief time. that's all i remember. now it's mine again. it's good to be home. john madden is warming up on the dobro. "fly, away mary oh fly, away... go fly away now mary, to heaven on the wings of a crow..." - {j. madden}when i think of home, i think of this place. ghosts. images. video in my head. snapshots. slide show. moving. chemicals. faces. muscle memory. floating. bubble bath. scents. relaxed. transported. twisting road. roller coaster. dirt path. time, continuum. this place holds postcards. different times, same place. i'm smiling. just... calm. i am getting to visit with this past piece of me that i haven't seen in a long time, who i had forgotten about. "loosen up that soul. time to let that heart of dust rest on the wings of a crow." - {j. madden}Tags: red light Current Mood: comforted

So Hayden got admitted to the hospital yesterday after a week of fighting a respiratory infection. We're going to be here at the Children's Hospital at least another day. Tests seem to show that the pneumonia / bronchiolitis is caused by RSV, a nasty respiratory virus that mostly hits kids and old people. I say "mostly", because apparently I have it as well now. Go figure. I was sent to the ER this morning with high fever and coughing icky yellow stuff. Doc says it's nothing that two shots in the bum and some prescription decongestant won't fix. Ouch! So, the summary is - Hayden is doing a little better today and we'll reevaluate whether he comes home tomorrow. I'm sick, but they expect the good drugs to kick in within 24-36 hours. Since the cause is a virus and not a bacteria, antibiotics don't do a lot of good. We're getting them anyway to be on the safe side, but the general treatment plan is lots of fluids, lots of oxygen, and lots of hospital food. Jeff is the supertrooper, taking care of us sickly ones. Thanks to the friends who have walked our dog, brought us food and toys, and prayed for us. We'll keep you posted. Current Mood: ouch!

Rupert Giles 54% amorality, 45% passion, 81% spirituality, 54% selflessness |
Utterly calm and resolute in the face of danger, utterly devoted to his loved ones and comrades in arms, and utterly willing to do what is necessary to ensure that good overcomes evil. Giles knows the score, he knows that sometimes virtue relies on good men getting a little messy, and he's willing to take that on himself, largely so that others don't have to.
You might share some of that.
You most closely resemble one of the most popular heroes in the Buffy universe.
Congratulations!

So... every year the holidays bring that lovely sense of family drama, er, tradition. Which state to go to, which relatives you want to see, which ones will give a lifelong guilt trip if you don't see them, how many miles of road is it even feasible to travel in one weekend, and so forth. Last year we resolved it pretty easily. One quick SC trip at Thanksgiving (when Hayden was 2 weeks old) and then we stayed home in Atlanta to celebrate Hayden's first Christmas. This year, we've done the planning early and in a way that exceeds all expectations. Thanksgiving will be held at a central location between all the family segments (Cheraw SC) and all the family will be invited. The Woodsons, the Odas, the Odoms, the Merrits, the Blacks, anybody and everybody - y'all come n' git yer vittles. One big glob of quality family time. Then, for Christmas, we're putting the frequent flyer miles to work. ... Close your eyes for a moment, and see if you can get this whimsical Jimmy Buffett tune into your head: "Christmas in the Carrrribbeeeannnn." Yup. We're headed to Cinnamon Bay, St. John for Christmas. We land on Christmas eve and come back a few days later. Free flights and cheap camping, and Hayden will get to associate Christmas with palm trees and sandy beaches. Santa in a snorkel and fins. Awwww yeah. That's what I call "family tradition." Current Mood: bouncy Current Music: Jimmy Buffett - "Christmas in the Caribbean"

so... i resigned from my job at earthlink a few weeks ago. my last day will be this wednesday. the culture has just radically changed here, and they aren't respecting and growing their people anymore. it's pretty toxic. it felt weird to quit without another job lined up, but life's too short to work somewhere that's not fun and that doesn't line up with my own values. the good news is that as of friday, i have found accepted another job. i'll be working as a consultant for a company called System Evolution (SEI). jeff is now working as a full time domestic engineer (stay at home dad). it's a very very good thing for our family. hayden just turned 4 months old. time is flying. he's developing quite the personality. he likes to stand up (with help from me for balance). he babbles a lot, but as if he were actually telling a story - with inflection and hand gestures at various points for emphasis. he smiles and laughs, and sits up on his own. he's very flirtatious, fun, and opinionated (not sure where he gets that from). i got my "M.R.S. degree" this weekend - i am officially now Lin Woodson. jeff and i tied the knot on saturday at a very low key yet incredibly fun affair. after one week of wedding planning (most of it done by jeff), we had a small gathering of family and a few close friends for dinner at copeland's new orleans restaurant. we said our vows between the salad and the entree. in typical lin-style, it was tropical theme, and everyone including the pastor and hayden had on hawaiian shirts. we had our "honeymoon" at the W hotel in dunwoody, and it was lovely. the hotel did a great job setting the ambience with rose petals all over the room, candles, music, champagne and chocolates. i highly recommend the W. sometime in the next few weeks while i'm between jobs we hope to go to key west for a couple of days. i'll try to post some photos of hayden, the wedding and whatnot soonish.
